What I'll Work Toward

What I'll Work Toward

If elected, I'll work with Council, City staff, residents, businesses, and community organizations to keep Abbotsford a great place to live, work, and play.

These are the priorities I'll focus on.

Priority 1

Strong Local Economy

A strong local economy doesn't just benefit businesses--it benefits everyone. It creates jobs, supports families, and helps build a stronger community.

I believe businesses are partners in Abbotsford's success. They deserve a City Hall that works with them, not against them.

I'll work toward:

  • Attracting new employers and quality jobs.
  • Supporting local businesses as they grow and invest in our community.
  • Improving City processes to reduce unnecessary delays.
  • Learning from municipalities that deliver excellent service and encourage investment.

Priority 2

Responsive City Hall

Residents and businesses deserve a local government that communicates clearly, responds promptly, and focuses on finding solutions instead of creating unnecessary roadblocks.

I believe City Hall should be practical, clear, and focused on helping people move forward while maintaining responsible standards.

I'll work toward:

  • Streamlining City processes wherever possible.
  • Better communication with residents and businesses.
  • Reducing unnecessary delays in permits and approvals.
  • Greater accountability and transparency.
  • A culture of service that puts people first.

Priority 3

Responsible Financial Stewardship

Every tax dollar matters.

A budget is more than numbers on a page, it's a reflection of our priorities. I believe every budget should be reviewed carefully, with thoughtful questions asked and every dollar delivering value to our community.

I'll work toward:

  • Clear and understandable financial reporting.
  • Asking thoughtful questions before decisions are made.
  • Reviewing budgets with fresh eyes to ensure spending reflects today's priorities.
  • Making the most of available provincial and federal funding opportunities.
  • Planning responsibly for both today's needs and tomorrow's opportunities.

Good financial stewardship isn't about spending less. It's about spending wisely and ensuring residents receive good value for every tax dollar.

Priority 4

Safe Communities

People deserve to feel safe where they live, work, and spend time.

Creating safe communities takes more than enforcement. It requires thoughtful planning, strong neighbourhoods, and community partnerships.

I'll work toward:

  • Practical crime prevention.
  • Safe parks and public spaces.
  • Strong neighbourhood connections.
  • Working with police and community partners to address local concerns.
  • Planning communities where people feel safe and welcome.

Priority 5

Live. Work. Play.

A great city is about more than roads and buildings. It's about creating places where people can connect, enjoy recreation, experience the arts, and build community.

I believe arts are a necessity, not a luxury. As Abbotsford grows, our community should grow with it.

I'll work toward:

  • Recreation opportunities for all ages.
  • Supporting local arts and cultural organizations.
  • Exploring opportunities for a performing arts centre through partnerships and responsible funding.
  • Creating welcoming parks, trails, and gathering places.
  • Pursuing grants and partnerships that strengthen our community.
